MAZE GENERATION

CONCEPT the relationships designed and linked both in parametric design and maze design and have an fundamental goal

Mazes + puzzles are unique designs that involve strategies and a solution to reach the end goal. The interlinking and weaving of paths relays a deeper connection between things.  The paths that link certain things together can relate back to several things in life, nature, commutation, art and architecture.  Myth is a verbal and a system of communication, a message.  Architecture and design also come with a message.  The message in architecture may not be very prevalent, however still have an underlining message or conclusion.  The conclusion of a maze is the end and the discovery along the way.

Starting with a predetermined arrangement can generate a maze, a predetermined arrangement can be considered as a connected graph with the edges representing possible wall sites and the nodes representing cells. The purpose of the maze generation algorithm can then be considered to be making a sub-graph where it is challenging.

A maze refers to a complex branching puzzle with choices of path and direction.  A Labyrinth is a system of intricate passageways and blind alleys.  In architecture, a labyrinth is more often the term one would refer to, which is a maze however a labyrinth has only a single, non-branching path that leads to the center.  They both are a confusing network of intercommunicating paths or passages.

The basic principal to realize with mazes and labyrinth design is that they both are about defining relationships; and also is parametric design.

Parametric design and its requisite modes of thought may well extend the intellectual scope of design by explicitly representing concepts that are usually treated intuitively. Being able to explain ideas explicitly is a part of at least some real understanding.
